The SD-M1612 is probably the most advanced DVD-ROM drive on the market today. For the first time you have one drive that is capable of reading all the recognised DVD-recordable standards in addition to all the established CD standards. In addition to the unrivalled versatility, the SD-M1612 has industry leading error correction software, variable speed playback, with low noise performance.
The new SD-M1612 allows PC users to take advantage of the huge storage capacities available through using DVD-RAM media. The new drive realizes a maximum read speed of 2x for DVD-RAM, 16x for DVD-ROM and, 32x CD-DA and 48x for CD-ROM.
Toshiba drives already displayed market leading DVD playback quality, but still we have also managed to improve it. The SD-1612 increased buffer size of 512KB offers users an unparalleled viewing experience and bring more DVD realism to the PC than ever before.
